Local Restaurant Marketing Through Community Activity

A recent survey shows that 57 percent of adults say they are likely to make a restaurant choice based on how much the business supports charitable activities and the local community.

Mr. Peanut was invented in 1916 by a Suffolk, Virginia schoolchild who won $5 in a design contest sponsored by Planters Peanuts.

You are a key part of your neighborhood and community. Emphasize this by supporting local charities and youth teams. Work with local schools to teach cooking classes.

Network with the businesses around you. At Hawkeye Consultants, we know of one office that brings in Continental breakfast items to their employees on the last Friday of every month. What if the name on the boxes and napkins was yours? There are 80 employees there, all potential customers for you.

Partner with a local theater or playhouse. Donate food to a local school event. If you can get kids to ask for your restaurant by name, the parents will bring them for dinner. You think it’s an accident that McDonalds pioneered the Happy Meal-type kid’s meal? Every child in America knows who and what McDonalds is, and many parents eat there just to keep their kids happy!

Be active and get your name out in the market and community. Let Hawkeye Consultants help make the arrangements!
